I've lived my whole life in Washington state. During the summer of 1998 good fortune landed me a spot in a local glass studio. From 1998 until 2001 I worked in several different glass co-op studio’s, before settling into my own studio in Ballard, Washington. My creations include Marbles, Vases, Oil Lamps and Sculptural Pipes. All pieces are individually designed and crafted out of 100% Borosilicate glass(commonly known as PYREX). All colors are created from unique combinations of metals, including gold and silver, integrated into each piece. Since I was young I have always been a builder. It is amazing to watch creations of all forms take shape. As a child, I remember being mesmerized the first time I saw molten glass. Now, as an adult, I still am. My work is a reflection of the world I’ve grown up with. Strong themes throughout my work include storms, thunder, lightning and abstract images from my mind. As an artist and a glass technician, I feel it is my duty to create beautiful pieces that excite the eye and boggle the mind. I strive to build sculptures that are both artistically and structurally interesting. For every triumphant moment I’ve had there has been a tremendous failure. But every morning, something pulls me back into the studio. The ability to enact precise change in a rock hard, ageless medium brings me back, and I have no choice but to turn on my torch.
