About the event

CoolHandSuuze, A.K.A. Suzanne Rateliff is a Northern California based glass artist who got her start in glass working at the dawn of the US functional glass movement in 1997. She went on to explore glass in the scientific world and gained as associate’s degree from Salem Community College in scientific glass blowing. Suuze then spent 10 years working with various forms of laboratory glass. Then in 2012 Suuze returned to her first love, functional glass art. In 2014 Suuze was head teacher and collaborator at Revere glass. Then Suuze joined forces with Cern Glass to create Acala Studios. Suuze spent 5 years cultivating a community at Acala Studios until mid-2019. Suuze chose to refocus her creative juices and built a small personal studio where she currently works alongside Hazardman Glass.
